True Story.. this is my reality.

27 weeks

How far along? 27 weeks

Total weight gain: 28bs

Maternity clothes? oh DUH, although I cannot stand to wear or buy the pants with the spandex extension on them... I'm thinking ill be a sumo wrestler for halloween or maybe a big black widow. My large belly would suit either fantasticly.

Stretch marks? no- yeehaw! still marinating like its my job.

Skin, Hair & Nails: finally I'm getting some of this bonus- my hair is starting to feel lots thicker -- thanks Ill take it.

Sleep: Night time has always been my nemesis. Well now, EVEN MORE-- not only can I not sleep soundly, now I'm like Pete's dragon, breathing fire all night. thank you indigestion and heartburn.

Best moment this week: hmm.. thats a toughy. I've been feeling like im getting a cold-- so maybe Adam coming home from NYC to remind me I'm going to live was a highlight. oh, and finishing the babies room!! that was an awesome feeling. oh, and LOL attempting Zumba... its not for preggo's btw.

Miss anything? laying on my back!! not having indigestion. being able to pee and wipe sitting down- ya, now we have to stand, joy. tying my shoes standing up. my pre-workout caffeine. wearing shirts without looking like Winnie the Pooh. should i continue.. LOL

Movement: do they ever stop... NOPE!! all day/night long! full blown circus clowns in there.

Food cravings:  butterscotch cookies, puffins cereal, milk, peanut butter,
animal cookies, hamburgers, baked potatoes, bananas

Anything making you queasy or sick: i think its more the indigestion, but i do get queasy from that for sure. Today my favorite oatmeal even made me feel sick-- that better never happen again!

Gender: It's a SURPRISE!!! Heart rates are now almost exactly the same at 141 and 142. I say boyyyyys :)

Labor signs: still getting little contractions, mostly at night. Some pressure down low, but it fades quick.

Symptoms: indigestion, heartburn, major nerve pain in my hips!!

Belly button in or out? Still flat, I dont really care if it pops out, but I'm wondering if it even will. It seems pretty content just laying low.
Can you see your toes? not a chance. I can barely see the numbers on the scale-- blessing? :)

Happy or moody most of the time: I'm pretty mellow. I tend to laugh at things a lot more than bitch or feel punky, but who knows what the next 12 weeks bring to this show.

Looking forward to: Next week's baby shower!! Maternity photos on Oct. 20th!

NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO: my Esthetician re-exam to have my license transfered next Friday. bleh!

27 weeks!!!

I cannot believe how quick the 2nd trimester has gone! The first 12 weeks was like watching water boil.  Maybe its because I was hanging onto my death bed for the entire 1st trimester and the last 12 weeks have been really NOT SO BAD! Of course I have my list of "i could do without's," but overall life has been pretty good as a preggo Hen.
Lately I have been battling what I like to call "fire in the hole"--- basically no matter what I eat and no matter what time I eat it, I get the WORST indigestion and heartburn known to man. I have tried food testing to see if maybe there are certain trigger foods, I've tried drinking smoothies for dinner, I've tried sleeping in a recliner,... the list goes on. Tums are my BFF these days, and Pepcid AC if I get the timing just perfect seems to help too.  From girlfriends that I've asked for relief suggestions from, I've gotten:
eat pineapple, grapes, papaya, ginger AT NIGHT
drink whole milk AT NIGHT
put a cold ice pack on my upper stomach before going to sleep
drink seltzer water at night before bed

I just got back from the store with all of these things-- Adam has become numb to the shananagans that I've become subjected to. Tonight I will start trying all these things one by one. I think i'll start with whole milk since that sounds like liquid ice cream :)

2 weeks ago I had my first of two Baby Showers!! This shower was in Arizona, thrown by a couple of my best girlfriends. It was just the cutest shower I've ever seen. The theme was 40's Vintage and the colors were all those of the babies room-- aqua, green, yellow, red, orange, black, raspberry.
Adam and I flew in together and stayed at the Phoenician. We decided to double up the vacation and make it a babymoon as well. We hadnt been back to AZ since our move in April. I was curious to see whether I'd miss it or not-- maybe get a little sentimental. I can honestly say I didn't miss AZ but more so I really miss my friends a lot, I miss the familiarity and knowing my way around.  I have so many great memories in AZ, I grew up there and really became who I am there, but I am loving my new home. Its also really interesting to be away and think you are missing out on SO much, but then going back, you realize that all your friends have their own lives to lead now and I'm not really missing as much as I think.  I feel like my life is richer now having all my old great best friends and a place I can think about and smile, but also now having new friends, and new experiences to add to my life and memories. Okay-- enough sappy talk :)
The shower was fabulous! I got a million awesome childrens books, great gifts, and lots of fun talks and time with my friends. It was a super weekend. Adam and I had a great great great Babymoon to top it off!! My next baby shower is being thrown by my two sisters up in Cleveland on Oct. 6th. I can't wait!

The babies room is officially FINISHED!! I need to post some pictures of that too.  I still have a few  things left to get as far as "stuff" goes--but I need to wait to buy until after my next shower.
I have my maternity photos booked for Oct. 20th. They will just be of me. Adam was less than thrilled about being in photos where he just stands there and pets my big belly and grins. I dont blame him. Honestly I think maternity photos are for the woman more-- thats just my opinion, people would disagree with me I know. I just think men really dont even come to grips that theres a baby on the way until its coming out of your vag on D-day. So ill be doing my pics solo, and CANT WAIT! Especially because its coming into fall season here and the trees and leaves at sunset could just kill you they are so pretty!!

Working on the baby books and memory lane scrapbook lately-- thats a task and a half, but really fun to go thru all the memories of my pregnancy and pre-pregnancy. Some of the journal entries I have of my last 3 years of trying/not trying/trying/ not trying saga are HILARIOUS! I think the babies and I will get a kick out of reading them all someday.

Next week I will be turning the corner to my 3rd tri!!

25 weeks

How far along? 25 weeks

Total weight gain: 26bs

Maternity clothes? I am absolutely in maternity shirts, shorts I can still get away with big sizes in regular stores, however, maternity leggings are AMAZING!! I bought really cute dress for the shower this weekend that is a wrap dress-- never owned one before but it works great. I did get fitted for a Belly Cradle- its like a fancy home depot belt if you ask me. It helps hold up these two little chubs in my tub :)

Stretch marks? Proudly-- NOPE!! marinating my entire body in cream twice a day like its my job

Skin, Hair & Nails: I think because i've taken pre-natal vitamins for years i havent had any amazing new advances in the hair and nail dept. I hear all your hair falls out after you have the baby-- LOVELY! I cant wait to add a scarf to my post-baby "robe and slippers" look.

Sleep: I still HATE NIGHT TIME... I cannot get comfortable and I have charlie horses in my hips so bad it wakes me up-- as an added bonus I'm now getting HORRID indigestion and heartburn.

Best moment this week: Seeing our 3-D ultrasound!! Oh my gosh, it was just so amazing to see both of their little faces and bodies moving all around like they were right in front of my eyes. Also, the way they move now I can see elbows and feet and little butt mounds right thru the skin. It's incredible!!

Miss anything? Being able to lay flat. Not having indigestion every night. Sleeping sound. Being able to run up the stairs without feeling like I just got kicked in the lungs.

Movement: TONS!! SO much-- ALL DAY LONG from both babies!

Food cravings: still loving greek yogurt. Peanut Butter and Honey. Oatmeal. Chocolate milk. Puffins Cereal. Steak and Burgers.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Not sick, but pretty much everything at night, no matter what it is, gives me wicked heartburn and indigestion-- NOT A FAN!

Gender:  It's a SURPRISE!!! Heart rates are 142 and 127---- most are saying boy/girl or two boys.

Labor signs: I am getting contractions already-- nothing to be alarmed about, but I do have the pressure and tightening once a day or so. Everything measures well and their fluids look good, so doctor says to just monitor it.

Symptoms: indigestion, heartburn, contractions, a little breakout action on the chin that rocks my world... otherwise all the same.

Belly button in or out?  Let's just say its begging for mercy... still flat but may not have a choice but to jump out soon.

Can you see your toes? if i kick my feet-- HAHA! No I can't even see a tip of a toe

Happy or moody most of the time: pretty happy 99% of the time. I do have moments of pure exhaustion that leads to tears and then the tears lead to a pity party-- totally uncalled for.

Looking forward to: This weekends baby shower in ARIZONA! The invites are TO DIE FOR! I will post. I can't wait!! Leaving tomorrow :)

6 months pregnant... Holla!!

I'm a little over 24wks pregnant now, and honestly cannot believe how fast this 2nd trimester has gone in comparison to the first 12 weeks of Armagedon. Going into the 2nd trimester, I heard tons of "oh you will feel amazing".. "you will have so much energy".. "you will want to bump and grind 24/7"... "you will have no food issues".. the list goes on.  I'm here to tell you, maybe its twins, but I can't really say that the 2nd trimester was all Beer and Skittles. I really don't have any complaints, but looking back I don't see what all the hype is about in the 2nd tri. Yes, its a hell of a lot better than the first and imagining the 3rd trimester, it's probably better than whats ahead, but I really don't feel like I skip around with fireworks sparkling out of my ears everyday.  So what has it been like...
~ LOTS of getting bigger
~ no issue gaining weight.. I gain weight thinking about it
~ my poor belly button's life is being ripped apart
~ no longer can see my feet or sausage toes
~ my legs only get shaved 3 times a week and it requires me sitting down in the shower to do so
~ I now feel like I'm headlocking two twinkies- TMI, but I dont care-- your vag turns into two pool noodles.
~ shaving your choch is no longer an option. Instead you now you are left with beard trimmer, a full length mirror and your large ass camped out on a towel to buzz it off. Shaving leads to a scenario of "Freddy meets Jason" and missing skin.
~ undercarriage pressure... sorta feels like your you belly is going to blow out at any second
~ WICKED hip pain, giving you a new appreciation for the elderly and a slight bit of envy for their whirpool baths, and walkers.
~ cholasma.. that would be the super sexy mask of pregnancy that leaves you looking like a chocolate chip cookie
~ Nesting... let it begin. I actually went to Walmart and bought almost $200 worth of baby meds. Because apparently Ill be birthing two kids with teeth and teething tabs at 24 weeks pregnant is logical. I also bought a jumbo sized pack of overnight maxi pads because I have only heard the worst horror stories of how you bleed out for weeks after you squeeze out the little bambinos.
~ building nursery furniture. I actually do have a list of "if your marriage survives this, you can collect and pass go" items. Added to it is now, building cribs, changing tables, and dressers.
~ indigestion. Fire in the hole is what I like to call it. It usually strikes the 1 night out of the week that you were actually sleeping soundly.
~ sleep.. um, whats that?
~ peeing like its your job. And you rock your job the 2nd tri... every 5minutes! winning!
~ surprisingly your sex drive isnt in the toliet-- shocking, since youre now sporting granny panties and youre lubed up with stretch mark cream like a Thanksgiving turkey.  I can tell you that there is not a single position that is flattering. Go ahead, get on all fours, then reference back to the jungle bush comment and imagine that for a second. sexy
~ Braxton Hicks contractions. Oh the babies are moving.. oh wait, no they arent, my stomach is just tighting up around their cute little tushes and squeezing my bladder until I pee down my leg.
~ your bladder does not want to play along. peeing your pants when you laugh, sneeze, cough, becomes the norm. panty liners become as second nature as putting on clothes.
~ huffing and puffing.. to do anything is your life now.
~ Welcome to the maternity store-- stretch pants, shirts, and bras that have trap doors are now your world, bye bye Guess, Bebe, Banana Republic...

What's been really awesome about my second trimester you ask...
Well, your belly is a hard as a rock now, so you no longer look like you are smuggling muffins in your pants, you actually look pregnant. And I , look VERY pregant for just being 6months along.
You can feel the babies move. It is by far the BEST part about being pregnant so far. I love it. And these two both move constantly. I swear they take turns kicking me in the ribs and plan attacks to flip at the same time.  The ultrasounds now are incredible. I go every 3 weeks to the specialist and get the 3d's everytime-- its pretty rad, and to my OB every 2 weeks for regular check ups.
It's baby shower time!! I have one shower in Arizona this weekend. The invite IS TO DIE FOR!! I'll post a picture. Then another shower in Cleveland in October-- that theme is very mod and darling, yellow and grey's!! So cute!  Adam is finally feeling more apart of everything-- watching him set up the nursery and feeling them move really just makes me fall in love with him all over again, his excitement is so special. I turned 30 years old in my 2nd trimester, and it is a birthday I will NEVER forget!!  Adam got me an elliptical and a workout bench and weights-- he knows I'm a die hard and really cant wait to get back into my gym time after i'm healed and in a situated place with the babes.  We finally nailed down 4 full baby names -- FINALLY!! :)

6 months and counting... BEST.IS.YET.TO.COME
